By using the names of major world cities shown on the rotating bezel and the 24-hour display on the dials, the approximate time in each city can be read.
This is only a simplified world time function, and should not be used where accuracy is critical.
Example: When in Tokyo and wanting to know the time in Paris
-
Check the current time in Tokyo. (In this case, the time is 14:00 [2:00 p.m.].)
-
Set the rotating bezel to align “TOKYO” with the 14 indicator.
-
Check to see what time “PARIS” aligns with on the rotating bezel.
(In this case, it aligns with 6, and therefore it is 6:00 a.m. in Paris.)
Time in other cities may be read in a similar way.
For example, the time in Los Angeles can be read as 21:00 (9:00 p.m.).
