The King Seiko VANAC is a legendary watch series created by Seiko between 1972 and 1976. With its unique blend of masterful craftsmanship and bold design, it continues to stand out today, having earned a permanent place in the hearts of vintage watch enthusiasts. Now, the series is making a comeback. A modern generation of the VANAC follows in the footsteps of the original, ushering in a new era for the King Seiko brand. Seiko has also reinterpreted the name VANAC, with the initials standing for Vibrant, Active, Novel, Alternative, and Comfortable.
The new collection features five exciting models: three regular models, one Limited Edition, and an exclusive Boutique Special. The watches pay tribute to the captivating colors of the sky above the vibrant city of Tokyo, from the gentle hues of dawn to the vivid tones of twilight. A look that brings the energy and versatility of Tokyo to life in each timepiece.
Striking, Powerful Design
The new VANAC is inspired by the endless expanse of Tokyo — the birthplace of King Seiko. The design captures the iconic horizon over the city, which changes throughout the day. A stunning play of light and shadow is created by the reflections in the countless mirrored skyscrapers. The VANAC case reflects this dynamic energy, featuring bold geometric shapes, sharp edges, and high-polished surfaces that create breathtaking light effects. The bracelet combines mirror-polished and brushed links, offering a luxurious look and a comfortable wearing experience — the perfect blend of functional and aesthetic design.
Vibrant Dial
The models come in deep, vibrant colors that make them shimmer almost like gemstones. The dial features an elegant horizontal stripe pattern, paired with an inset, contrasting ring that frames the indices. The index at 12 o'clock and the counterweight of the second hand bear the distinctive "V" silhouette, embodying the heritage of the VANAC series.
Clear View on the New High Performance Movement
The VANAC is the first King Seiko with a transparent case back, and the view through it is truly worth it! Inside lies the new Caliber 8L45 – Seiko’s most precise mechanical movement to date, boasting a power reserve of over 72 hours and an accuracy of +10 to -5 seconds per day. The rotor and bridges of the movement feature a subtle wave pattern, making it not only a technical marvel but also a visual highlight.
