Seiko Astron reaches new heights of quality and finishing
with its latest GPS Solar Dual-Time Chronographs

In 2012, Seiko took electronic watchmaking to a new level with the Astron GPS Solar, which connects to the Global Positioning System (GPS) and adjusts to every time zone* while generating all the energy it needs from light alone. Almost exactly a year ago, the new Caliber 5X83 was introduced, combining Dual-Time technology with a chronograph function for the first time. The Caliber 5X83 automatically connects up to twice per day to the GPS network. Manual connections are made possible with the simple push of a button, allowing the movement to maintain its precision anywhere in the world**. Today, four new GPS Solar Dual-Time Chronographs, each featuring a titanium bezel with a sapphire crystal insert, are introduced into the Seiko Astron collection.

*If there are changes in the region / time zone / DST, manual selection may be required.

** When the dial detects sunlight, the watch connects to the GPS satellite network and adjusts automatically to the correct time. If the watch is hidden from light, it remembers the time of its last successful manual connection and attempts to receive the GPS signal again at that same time.

A case construction using Seiko’s latest watchmaking technology

The latest Astron GPS Solar Dual-Time Chronographs boast what is among the most sophisticated designs in the Seiko Astron collection. Each watch’s titanium bezel with sapphire crystal insert provides a smooth and elegant detail, while the mirror polishing on the case imparts a graceful touch to a powerful and angular shape.

The markers on the sub-dials at 12 and 6 o’clock are diamond-cut, giving these watches a refined and striking presence while enhancing legibility in any lighting condition. The main dial features a wide, three-dimensional pattern consisting of horizontal stripes, emphasizing the precision inherent to the powerful movement beneath it. The radiant dial design is evocative of a refined and sophisticated watchmaking technology.

The watches feature a multi-row bracelet with mirror polishing and hairline finishing to achieve a sophisticated look that speaks to the great attention paid to the details.
Manufacturing titanium parts with intricate finishing requires a great deal of expertise as well as advanced manufacturing technologies. Thanks to the low center of gravity of the titanium case and the dual-curved sapphire crystal with super-clear coating, the watches ensure high levels of comfort and legibility.

Three of the new watches join the main Astron collection: one with a blue-gray dial, another with a gray dial, and a third featuring a black dial paired with sleek black super-hard coating on its case and bracelet.

These three watches will be available starting in May 2025 at the Seiko Boutiques and select retail partners worldwide.

A limited edition with a powerful presence

A limited-edition creation with rich accents will also be a part of this launch. Prominent rose gold-colored accents on the hour markers, bezel, and various other parts, combined with the deep navy-colored dial, enhance the design by adding a boldness and sophistication all their own. The clean look of the sapphire crystal bezel insert combined with the faceted, rose gold-colored titanium bezel provides a radiant quality to this edition.

The lustrous black ceramic on the bracelet’s center links
furthers the luxurious feel of this limited edition.

This limited edition of 1,500 will be available in May 2025 at select Seiko Boutiques and retail stores worldwide.
