The LX line emerged from the Seiko Prospex collection in 2019 as the pinnacle of the Seiko sport watch.
This series takes its name from “lux,” the Latin word for “light,” as it is intended to have a presence that shines brilliance upon wearers. It is a premium sports watch collection that blends a high aesthetic sense with high practicality.
A new limited edition model embodying the seascape brought to mind by this flagship of the diver’s watch collection has been released as part of the LX line.
By utilizing cermet for the bezel, the luster of fantastic water surfaces were depicted, both in violet gold and platinum colorings —a feature not possible with conventional ceramic.
The definite performance as a professional tool is combined with a surreal beauty woven from the interplay of light and shadow in this special model, which was designed on the concepts of “Sea illuminated by the sun at dawn” and “Moonlight flickering on the sea surface.”
THE LIGHT OF
DAWN
The flickering reflections on the sea of the morning sun filtering in from the sky at dawn is depicted by the glamorous violet gold color of the bezel. Cermet is used for the bezel in order to achieve this texture woven from the reflections of delicate light.
By resonating with the dark brown dial, the look is reminiscent of the fantastic scene that can only be seen at sea in the dim light of dawn.
In addition to the cermet exterior of the bezel, the case, based on Seiko’s original Professional Diver’s—an iconic timepiece born in 1968—is yet another attractive element that underwent an evolution to be reborn with a sense of aesthetics and practicality befitting a contemporary luxurious item.
Zaratsu polished with a distortion-free mirror surface surrounding the exterior of the case.
The center of gravity was brought closer to the skin to create a case design with an incredibly comfortable fit on the wrist.
This is a masterpiece diver’s watch encompassing the very best of the Seiko Sport Collection.
This timepiece offers the uncompromising specifications demanded of a professional diver’s watch, including water resistance for saturation diving to depth of 300 meters, a unidirectional bezel fitted with a robust cermet exterior panel, and a clasp with a push-button diver-adjusted mechanism, among others.
The letters “LIMITED EDITION” and the serial number 001/200-200/200 are displayed on the case back as proof of this limited quantity edition.
The movement, the engine of the watch, is fitted with Seiko’s innovative mechanism— Spring Drive Caliber 5R65. Its unique glide motion seconds hand is silent and boasts a power reserve of approximately 72 hours (3 days) when fully wound.
Spring Drive is characteristically highly reliable in sports situations as it features high resistance to temperature variations and shocks, which are to be expected in active situations such as marine sports and climbing.
THE LIGHT OF
MOON
The flickering reflections on the sea from the light of the moon floating in the night sky is depicted by the glamorous platinum color of the bezel. Cermet is used for the bezel in order to achieve this texture woven from the reflections of delicate light.
The gold color of the seconds hand reflected on the charcoal gray dial is reminiscent of moonlight, while the mystic scenery of the silent sea at night emerges on the wrist.
