The year 2025 marks the 60th anniversary of the Seiko diver’s watch. Since creating Japan’s first diver’s watch in 1965,
Seiko has continuously advanced in diver’s watchmaking to meet the demands of professional divers worldwide.
Seiko’s first diver’s watch pursued reliability and safety, paving the way for many future innovations. In 1968,
the company released a high-beat, 300m air-diving model, meeting the global standard for the time.
In 1975, Seiko launched the world’s first 600m-water-resistant model for saturation diving and used a robust titanium case,
earning the trust of professional divers.
Since then, Seiko has continued to combine its unique technology and expertise to create numerous innovative diver’s watches
that have been loved by adventurers and explorers, proving their reliability in harsh environments around the globe.
Based on historical models reflecting Seiko’s significant milestones, three new 60th-anniversary limited editions demonstrate
how the Seiko diver’s watch has evolved in both functionality and design.

The wave mark, a symbol of the Seiko diver’s watch, is a testament to high reliability and exceptional technology. This mark is engraved on the case backs of all Seiko diver’s watches.
Inspired by the wave mark, a dynamic, embossed pattern reminiscent of the rough sea is applied to the dial. Its powerful design captures the force of crashing whitecaps.

The silver-dialed model pays homage to Seiko’s first diver’s watch from 1965.
The bezel features a refined gray color, enhancing the sense of unity with the case and elevating the luxurious quality of the design.
An updated clasp, which allows a 15mm adjustment range, can be easily extended or shortened in six 2.5mm increments by pressing side buttons. This ensures a comfortable fit, adapting to changes in wrist size caused by diving pressure or the weather.

The blue-dialed model reflects the design of the 1968 diver’s watch and is powered with the GMT Caliber 6R54. Its water resistance has increased to 300 meters compared to the 200-meter resistance of previous diver’s watches equipped with Caliber 6R54.

The Marinemaster is a high-end diver’s watch that embodies the technology and expertise Seiko has developed in creating diver’s watches.
Its appeal lies not only in its exceptional performance but also in the refined beauty of its exterior design and the meticulous finishing of its details.
The flagship model, the Marinemaster Professional, is designed to meet the more specialized and tough demands of professional divers.
Since the release of the first professional model in the Seiko diver’s watch lineup in 1968,
it has been essential to balance both the functional prowess as a tool and the aesthetic appeal as an accessory.
The 60th-anniversary limited edition model, equipped with the newly developed Caliber 8L45 mechanical movement,
achieves unprecedented beauty and performance and is now available from the Marinemaster series.
The watch features a new textured dial whose pattern evokes the deep sea.
A thick, clear paint adds a lustrous finish to enhance the beauty of the dial
while achieving an unprecedented level of depth.
The unique case shape inherits its distortion-free mirror surface from the original design of 1968.
Additionally, the stainless-steel bezel has been treated with Diamond-Like Carbon coating to achieve a surface hardness approximately six times greater than it would otherwise be, making it significantly more resistant to scratches.
The watch features a one-piece titanium construction that ensures water resistance to depths of 600 meters, suitable for saturation diving.
At the same time, the screws that secure the bezel within the watch’s construction are on the back of the case, allowing for a seamless aesthetic.
Caliber 8L is a high-quality mechanical movement that embodies Seiko’s expertise in mechanical watchmaking,
along with an uncompromising spirit of craftsmanship passed down through generations of skilled artisans.
With Caliber 8L45, Seiko has improved the shape and design of the mainspring and implemented precise accuracy adjustments,
achieving the most stable accuracy (-5 to +10 seconds per day) among Seiko’s current mechanical movements
and a power reserve of approximately 72 hours.
